I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
